2022 Wastewater Treatment Plant Build

Tanneries use a lot of water to produce leather and the resultant drum processing spent waters contain a large quantity of solids and other chemicals that need to be removed before the wastewater can be discharged to the public sewer system.

It was clear the tannery’s existing wastewater treatment facility was nearing the end of its useful and reliable life. To ensure the tannery’s future environmental compliance we set about designing and building the new facility.

As we had plenty of spare land, we were able to build the new facility alongside the old treatment plant, so we could continue to run the existing wastewater treatment plant, to keep our production going during the build.

The main part of the build took around 11 months and was project managed by Holmes Halls.
